Laser Hair Removal
🌺Before & Aftercare Instructions

Laser Hair Removal uses targeted light energy to disable hair follicles and reduce unwanted hair growth over time. Treatments are quick, precise, and safe for most skin types, with results improving after each session. Most patients experience smoother skin and significantly reduced regrowth after a series of treatments.
🩺 Universal Pre‑Treatment Guidelines
💊 Avoid Blood Thinners (5–7 Days Prior) Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Motrin, and other NSAIDs increase bruising risk. If you take prescription anticoagulants (Coumadin, Dabigatran, Apixaban), please notify us.
🚭 Avoid Alcohol & Smoking (48 Hours Prior) Both increase bruising and slow healing.
🌿 Consider Arnica Montana Topical or oral Arnica can reduce bruising for patients prone to it.
🧴 Arrive With Clean Skin No makeup, sunscreen, moisturizer, or oils. We will cleanse again before treatment.
🧊 Optional: Numbing Cream Apply Lidocaine 30 minutes before your appointment. If you don’t have any, we can provide it in‑office at no charge.
🌟 Laser Hair Removal - Before Care
Shave the treatment area 12–24 hours before your appointment (do NOT wax, pluck, or thread for 4 weeks prior).
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self‑tanner for 2 weeks before treatment to reduce the risk of burns or hyperpigmentation.
Stop using retinoids, glycolic/salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and exfoliating scrubs on the treatment area for 5–7 days prior.
Avoid bleaching the hair for 2 weeks before treatment.
If treating the face or neck, avoid makeup on the day of treatment.
If you have a history of cold sores and are treating the upper lip or chin, antiviral medication may be recommended.
Do not apply deodorant to the underarms on the day of treatment (if that is the treatment area).
🌈 Universal Aftercare Guidelines
✨ Mild Redness or Swelling Is Normal This typically resolves within a few hours.
🙅 Avoid Rubbing or Massaging Treated Areas Unless specifically instructed for your procedure.
🏃 Avoid Exercise & Lying Flat (4–6 Hours) This prevents product migration and reduces swelling.
🍷 Avoid Alcohol for 24 Hours Alcohol increases fluid retention and bruising.
🌿 Continue Arnica if Needed Avoid applying directly to injection sites.
💊 Resume Blood Thinners After 24 Hours Unless otherwise directed by your physician.
🌟 Laser Hair Removal - Aftercare
Mild “sunburn‑like” warmth is normal; use cool compresses as needed.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and heavy sweating for 24 hours.
Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks and use SPF 30+ daily on treated areas.
Do not wax, pluck, or thread between sessions — shaving only is allowed.
Avoid applying deodorant to treated underarms for 24 hours.
Hair will shed over the next 1–3 weeks; this is expected and not regrowth.
Exfoliate gently starting 3–4 days after treatment to help release shedding hairs.
If blistering or scabbing occurs (rare), avoid picking and contact us for guidance.
